 Full 20" WOA Wilson 1:7 Match barrel, KG black. I think the GG&G rings are the perfect height for mounting optics on an AR. |

SWEET! Looks like an SPR without all the bells and whistles. Plain, simple, VERY effective
 !! Almost wish I had seen that arrangement before I pursued my full blown SPR build!! Let me know when you guys need people to shoot all those guns you are building. I'm just a phone call away.

Let me know, I have several in stock, and will have 8 more by the end of the week. M1s, M3s, Illuminated, all Mil Dot... Most are spoken for by customers finishing off uppers, but I should have pricing figured out by Friday. |

Funny, having seen so many 18" SPR barrels lately, this 20" one looks downright odd. Kinda like a 24" used to before there was an 18".
 Very cool though. Quite functional.

Right, actually I knew the profile for the SAM R barrel, just wondered if this was the barrel you've advertised in the EE..

Is that an A1 or an A2 Vltor? Also, what is the weight of that minus optics, or even with optics?

Two words come to mind: BLACK EYE !
For me, that scope is going to have to be moved forward. It's already hanging off behind the charging handle, Add another 3" or more for proper eye relief from a good quality Leupold scope and that thing will be useless in the prone position. I'd move the rear ring to about the current position of the fron ring. This would place the front ring over the handguard. This is why the ARMS S-EX was invented. If the front rails line up with the flat opt you could bridge across but I wiuldn't trust it, too many opportunities for a problem. Time for a re-do. |

The scope would be better off pushed forward a bit, but the receiver is too short, and the scope is so low it will be awkward for most shooters. A sleeve would also be very advisable if using a ring that tightens with a wrench, because you end up chrushing the alum. with the littls steel clamps. I have seen so many receivers with big dents in them, they had to be replaced. At least with a sleeve, the receiver isn't going to be damaged from a steel ring. You can always replace a sleeve if/when damaged. A dented rail is no fun to use if you want repeat on and off. The Military SPR issue sniper rifles don't mount so low for good reasons.

Re-do, LOL. That scope is a Leupold MR/T, designed for AR's, move it forward 3" and you wouldnt be able to see much of anything. It looks a bit long because I dont have the end cap pushed on very far(you can tell it isnt even on straight). The rings are high GG&G rings, and are the perfect height for everyone who has held it, and are set where the owner likes it. A properly torqued ring isnt going to hurt the upper. He chose not to go with the ARMS rings, because the scope will probably never come off. |

Oh, okay. You understand my point and had already dealt with it. Personally, I need a LOT of room as I am very tall. Service rifles, all of them, do not fit me except for the US Model 1917and the 03 Springfield (barely).
I forgot to say, it is a fine looking rifle. |
