I have a 24" Super Bull barrel on my DPMS rifle. I have had zero problems with my rifle (except some silly mag problem) and the accuracy has been outstanding.
Mine is 1-9 inch twist. I truly dont know if that is bad or good but from what i hear it isnt a huge difference form 1-9 to 1-8 when it comes to performance. |

If you're going to shoot anything heavier than the 62 grain stuff (which you should consider with 24" of barrel in front of you) you shuld go with the 1:8.
If you'll be shooting in the 55-62 the 1:9 will work just fine. Single shot AR?  I feel so sorry for Kalifornians.CMOS |

You might consider a RRA 24" 1:8 varmint bbl. They have a .223 wylde chamber, wich will shoot both 5.56 and .223.

I heard somewhere that dpms doesnt feed well with 5.56 but, i shot 300 in one shooting, (made sure it had time to cool). no problems with the 5.56 or .223, so it depends i guess.

I'm really, really impressed with the accuracy from my RRA 24" bull w/ 1/8 twist and Black Hills match ammo.

Gee EXCUSE ME IF I AM WRONG BUT 5.56 and .223 is the same shit, second the bigger the ration the longer the twist 1/7 gets more distance than 1/9 i think most or all of the powder burns up in the first 20'' anyway so the extra velocity wont be much compared to the extra weight, and isnt that heavier ammo real expensive
