Here's my latest project. Has some custom tricks you may notice. What do you think?
1 piece mid length aluminum tube, billet T-6 aluminum 1913 spec rails custom made to fit the tube, and installed individually. Wilson 16” 1:9 chrome moly barrel, and GG&G gas block front sight.
The brake is a 4 port style, also custom made.
RRA upper/lower, Fobus grip, ARMS #38 SE X rail, and #35 mount&rings. Harris bi-pod with ARMS QD mount.
Optics are Leupold Vari XIII 4.5-14x40, with buttler creek caps.
I'm trying to keep the pieces and weight to a minimum. 1 piece tube, attach only the rails you want (in the length you want). Weight as pictured 10.5lbs.
I’m still playing with the optics, I’ve never been a “scope” kinda guy. I can put more in the X with iron sights and a 6 o’clock hold than I can with a scope.
This isn’t really my style, or something I would keep. It sure is kinda neat looking though :-)
I’m going to make another upper with an 18” 1:8 SS Wilson barrel next with a full-length rail on the top.
