I am hoping people here will share with me information on gunsmiths and companies who do custom AR work.  I have a thousand ideas about my pre-ban Colt, and was needing some help in deciding what direction to go.

Thanks,

Steve

Give us some examples of what you are looking to do.  Your question is sort of broad and there may not be one recommendation that would cover it all.

You can start by checking out some of these websites.

yea you want a recommendation on a gunsmith but you won't tell us what type of AR you want.

How custom is "custom"  a guy that will swap an upper is a dime a doz.  if you want a guy that can do everything. you are talking more money and long lead times.  try Kurts Custom.

A good list here of 'Custom Shops' each has their own specialty:

Oh that's an old one.  I just moved it to the top level menu because so many people were having a hard time finding it.

Yeah that really depends if you are looking for "techy" tactical mods or Extreme accuracy work.

For the accuracy work (you might try Krieger barrels as they will undoubtably fit their barrel to your upper).

For tactical mods I think Kurt or MSTN would be the way to go.

When anyone mentions 'AR Wizard', I think of Kurt at KKF... the work he had done for me is first class and his reputation here on ARFcom is outstanding...

Try Derick Martin at Accuracy Speaks in Mesa, AZ. He absolutely, positively knows his stuff and is an excellent man to do business with.
