FEEL FREE TO POST MULTIPLE FIREARMS IN SEPARATE IMAGES, heck, you might have 4 or 5 GoTo AR's!
Lets see images and discuss our best AR's, the ones we trust 100%. Tell us why this particular AR rifle, sbr or pisol is your SHTF or DUTY GoTo.  If you're at all like me, you may be collecting a lot of different AR's.  This may be due to the current political climate, the rush of training or maybe simply because you think the AR is one of the best firearm designs ever conceived.  Personally, I could never own too many AR's and hope to continue to add to the collection.  That being said, I do have my favorites.  My GoTo, must haves.

Mine is an LMT MRP.  At 14.5'', it is short enough to wield in confined spaces and also capable of making accurate shots out to 500yrds.  It is Night Vision ready, carries a good flashlight and is equipped with an illuminated 1-4 LPVO.  At 9.5 lbs with spare batteries, spare bolt parts and a bipod, I am comfortable carrying it with a sling for extended periods of time.  Most importantly, I have encountered very few failures and it is accurate.  I try to end most range days and training sessions with a minimum of one Mag fired from this rifle to maintain my familiarity and confidence with it.  I also have a spare 10.5'' barrel which I plan to run Suppressed.  I think the MRP platform is extremely durable and relatively accurate, especially when used in conjunction with an LMT Enhanced BCG.  There is a level of sacrifice in regards to weight, but in my opinion, the pros far out weigh the cons.  I may change to an M-LOK Upper in the near future to shave a few OZ's.
MANY CHANGES HAVE COME

I start with this KAC URX4 Mod 2 w/ E3 SR16 BCG

My Colt/Geissele 11-5 HRT.  This is my first choice, day or night, GoTo AR.

My GoTo Hunting/Truck Gun.  It's a 12-5 LMT in Caliber 6.8 SPC

The wait has gotten worse.  I am still waiting for my 2nd 11.5" from June 1 and have a 12.5" ordered late July.  I may see my cans before the uppers .

Call then and see what wait times are.  The 10 weeks on the site disclaimer doesn't reflect my experience right now.

CANS!!! I'm waiting 2.  I'm about 290 days out now, really hope my stamps arrive before Rifle Hunting Season.  All the estimated dates say I should receive them any day now but I'm not counting on it.

Thanks! The 1.5X is great because you can still do up close work, but still reach out, if needed.

Love it or hate it, I finally got my hands on a Grey Super Duty Lower for my multi colored HRT-ish build.  I think it will look better with a grey Magpul wedge grip.  [color=#ff0000]If you're wondering why I have wires all over the place.  It's because the UNITY TAPS PP failed on the second night shoot.  I guess I'll be purchasing another SF SR09.

Thanks! I did it myself using DuraCoat aerosol cans. I incorporated the rifles DDC color into the pattern. Used an Italian military camo stencil set for a different look.

Please show a scale reading.  I have much of this gear and cannot see how this setup is as light as you state.  With loaded mag which = 1 lb.  DBAL.  Can.  SF m300v or equivalent.  Optic setup.

No chance it's under 10 lbs.  My glance is 11+

Avoid superlatives.  They make life harder.  Scale misread?

I have many of those parts.  9 lb 14 oz loaded mag with that parts list...

Here guess how much this one weighs, bet you will be surprised:

Edit:

Magazine - 16 ounces (loaded)

DBAL -  8 ounces

Can - 14 ounces (maybe heavier? Ti can?)

Light w/mount - 4.5 ounces

Optic = 12 ounces (Ta33 with mounted RMR is 13.5 oz.)

Thermal = 26 ounces (RA admission page 7 unless this is an ECOTI - 4 ounces?)

= 5.03 lbs

9.875lbs (9 lb 14 oz - RA page 7) - 5.03lbs = 4.845 lbs rifle with sling

How do the Ti and Al parts hold up to high and dense round counts?  Internals to counteract a LW BCG and suppressed shooting (AGB likely)?  Smooth shooter?

Impressive build!

Everytime I get an extra $6500.00 I spend it on guns or motorcycles and so have yet to buy into Thermal.  I will eventually buy a Trijicon Clip On as I don't even have a NODS Clip On setup and would like to have a nighttime grab and go shooting solution that doesn't give up My position or require a helmet.

Three methods of aiming and two to three methods of illumination is my standard.  If you ever loose batteries on an Aimpoint and you have no weapon mounted Flashlight, Your BUIS is pretty much worthless.  I think everyone should try shooting BUIS on a dark night without White Illumination.  Not feasible.  Again, shooting Offhand, One Helmet Mounted PVS14 and a DBal, shockingly easy to connect with targets.

The only time I would choose to run the Torch and Aimpoint at night is to blind an Assailant at ranges that are 25m or less.  So basically, inside My house or Surprise Entries and Raids.  On the latter, Flash Bangs would be nice.

Nods is the best option but I assume 99% dont have them so a flashlight is the best they can do.

I'd rather have a flashlight and not need it instead of just blasting away only to turn the lights on after and find out I ghosted a friend or family member.

NODS suck when any light comes your way. Thermal sucks with high humidity. White lights can give you away without proper use.

Get all of them?

@M-4matus I have a FOM unit around 2700.  .7 Halo.  1 EBI.  Pretty good.  Almost no ambient light relegates them to low value.  Thermal usually reigns...

Lol, now don't go trying to craft some sort of alternative history. I couldn't care less if someone "likes 11.5s a little more than 10.3s" and that wasn't remotely the subject of my post.

I took exception to you making a bunch of non-factual claims and spreading misinformation. If by "outraged" you mean refuting ridiculous statements like "10.3s are only effective to 50m" and backing my argument with actual data and real-world testing, then sure.

1. Pictured above 10.3 with MK18 Rail and Closed Tine Flash hider (.070" Gas Port DD Barrel)
2. 10.3" Front sight post with a RAC FF rail and Closed Tine Warcomp (.070" Gas Port DD Barrel)
3. Geissele 11.5" Duty Grade Upper with a Closed Tine Warcomp (I'm pretty sure I measured this gas port at .069") <---- I think, I've measured countless gas ports in the last two months but I'm 90% sure it is .069"

I honestly think that the best feeling setup is the 11.5". It weights almost the same as the 10.3" MK18 (check my IG @classifieddefense) but it a lot smoother.

Maybe I'll swap out to a warcomp on the 10.3" and see how I like that.

Pic of the aftermentioned 6.75” 300 blackout that would probably be my go to. Except I’m promiscuous, so I would probably just be as likely to grab the 12.5” Hodge I’ve posted before or the 10.4” 416. I probably should post those too since things have changed.

Only thing that will change is I have a Q Full Nelson that I just need to go pick up from the dealer. Then it’ll look even more LVAW-esque.

That is where I mount the Atpial C (Peq) on my MCX, because that is where the upper receiver ends.  Just ahead of the peq is where the handguard starts.   IMO, its a more stable position to mount the peq on the receiver rather than the removable handguard....
