You might be getting some brands mixed up. As far as I know the only block that vents excess gas is the superlative block, and I've never heard of the NIT block.
My only suggestion is to get a block that has an easily removable adj screw for cleaning, and also one in with adjustments that have some form of detent mechanism to lock the set screw in place under recoil. |

Go with Superlative Arms. Fully adjustable and also allows a bleed off adjustment to relieve over gassing when running suppressed.

i spent a bunch of time reviewing threads and deciding this for myself
there were lots of problems with the adjustment screws freezing up mike's (aka: mbell556) you-tube vids were a huge help in understanding the issues and an answer
after many rounds, none of my Superlative Arms gas blocks have seized up, the adjustment screws turn just as they did when new |

I was under the impression that the SLR had a leaf spring on the side to releave pressure. One guys blew off. I guess it is just a retention spring for the set screw.
