Branching off from the normal Recce Rifle Thread for just legit clones. These have the most varying setups of all the clones, I believe. There is no hard data listed for every piece of equipment on these rifles. Only ITW photo's and some small lists of procurement from NSW. I have outlined the parts used most commonly but there are plenty of versions that are not covered in this list. The ITW one off photos of an already one off setup can be cloned using the parts visible in the photo!

I love the way the T-1s look piggybacked on the x24 NF. Need to set my SR-25 up like that.

I thought the photo styles seemed a bit...familiar.

He just needs to add some Mod H action in there.

This is the same load just mixed brass and 10 shots rapid fire.

I have yet to shoot BH MK262 from it. The Magtech Clone was a little over 1 MOA.

Frontier 55gr HP Match is also a little under an MOA in the Bartlein. Great cheap 400yd and in ammo.

Factory 73gr ELD is also about 1/2 MOA in the Bartlein.

Just to clarify, will the Insight MRDS Mount fit on Nightforce rings?  And does the MRDS and Docter sight have the same mounting footprint?

Yes to both. The Docter is a little tight on there though. The Docter also sits very low. You can see the dot but it’s almost impossible to get a good zero as you can’t get to the set screws for the zero adjustments.

Stamp for the AEM5 finally came in the other day and I picked it up Saturday.  Shot with it for the first time today with the SEAL Recce, CQBRecce and A1 clone I have set up for it.  I loved it.  Hardly any blowback and very quiet.

I've thought the same thing.

The AEM5 is truly an outstanding performer and my setup goes to the range with me every single time. Todd Magee with Dead Air says it's still the quietest 5.56 can he's ever metered.

Most likely a larue riser with the springboard chopped off. Hard to tell with the res of the pic.
Link Posted: 4/17/2019 12:05:41 PM EDT
[Last Edit: JJREA] [#31]
And what scope is that?  There is some extra stuff going on with the occular lense that is throwing me.....  It's either a flip cover flipped out, but it's making it look like one of those scopes with the rubber floppy thing that goes around your eyeball......   eh?

I'm thinking that mount could be a Larue Riser like the one Horrigan had at one point...  possibly....

https://www.larue.com/products/larue-tactical-scope-mount-qd-lt807/

meh, now that I'm looking at it it looks longer and there seems like there are round knobs on it....   Does look like a riser with some rings.  Seems pretty high up too overall.  Isn't the receiver rail already higher than a normal one on the 416?

Thanks for posting that pic.  I've never seen it.

To me it looks like a NF 2.5-10x24 with the rubber scoop caps in NF rings on a Larue Riser. But the scope also kinda looks like a S&B Short dot due to the turret cap appearance but I'd place a bet on the 1st....

Eta: definitely #1 & After looking again. I'd say a Butler Creek rear cap and the doctor cover rubber banded to the side of the scope like the guy in the helo pic.

When in doubt, NF is the answer.  LOL.  You're probably right.  I'm not so sure about the mount being a larue though.  Unless they made them with round knobs a long time ago.  Course my eyes aint what they used to be.

I don't see any knobs in the riser, to me those what I think you are talking about look like the nuts on the rings.  But you are right, I don't think it's a Larue riser after looking at it. It kind of looks like a YHM.

pretty sure it's a front chopped GG&G scout riser.  GG&G risers, Larue risers, KAC tri mount risers, and another I couldn't ID have been seen on 416 recce rifles before.

Still no joy on the 1.5" KAC rings. Actually found someone who had some, that he SOLD 6 FUCKING MONTHS AGO to someone building an "old school build".

Even Geno doesn't have a set or even a lead on them, KAC doesn't have any left. Taking everything in my power not to just dunk the whole idea and let it go.

I already have some 1.5s that are cheap and look close, money spent on buying another wrong set of rings is less $$$$ on hand to buy a set of KAC 1.5s. If I buy anything that isn't KAC 1.5s at this point it's a set of NF 1.5s

And, MSG Horrigan happens to be the gentleman that is the reason we have 1.93" LaRue mounts. One might consider that at the end he potentially had a Short Dot in a 1.93 LaRue mount, but for me the KAC rings and Leupold are the MRE that has had me wanting an MRE this entire time.
