Its worth it...but shop the pricing as stuff is all over the place right now...I got a NIB 6721 recently by watching a GB auction and winning at 681.00.....My guess is that 2017 is going to be a great time to be a buyer.

I bought a couple of OEM1 rifles in August. The fit and finish was excellent. We've pounded about 2K rounds through them with zero failures.

Colt quality is still there but QC may have slipped some. Or their version of acceptable and everyone else's is a little different. Still great rifles and I would snag one as a project for $700 or so. This is definitely the time to be a buyer. Good luck finding a RIS II FSP for your build though.

A Colt OEM 1 with a B5 or LMT SOPMOD stock installed and a Knight's Armament hand guard installed would be my one and only if I could only own one standard style rifle. Colt rifles run and that's what matters to me.

I bought an OEM 2 back in the summer for $750+tax+background at GT Distributors.
They are local, so no shipping. Right around $800 out the door. At that time, all Colts in this area were north of $1200 before tax, and that situation hasn't really changed. You had to go DPMS, Windham, Bushmaster, etc. to compare to the OEM price. I've owned several ARs, but this was my first Colt. Finish and function have been top notch. Very pleased. |

I think the OEM1s are a great idea. I don't care much for the stock GI furniture. I bought an OEM1 last month right after the election, and I couldn't be happier.

For a lot of people yes. If it were my only option, yes. But I can't stand the barrel and would replace it, so for right now, for me, no. If I were attempting a clone, then sure.
