Gotcha. Have a headache. Been having seizures past couple days and kinda out of it so missed it. Please excuse my error. We all have bad days . You are correct. The comp m4 m68cco and ta31 m150 would be correct with the m4a1 socom barrel. I should really get off my phone and be sleeping, but I am damn stubborn and don't want to.

What is the M150 designation? Not real Trijicon savvy.

RCO-A4 and RCO-M4 are USMC. M150 is virtually identical to the RCO-M4 but has lens caps and different markings.

More parts coming in and getting ready to build a closer to correct lower.

Still need a Side Sling mount unless the CQD is g2g on Block 1 (intended for my block 2), to swap flashhider out and then a regular charging handle

Edit: and a more kosher block 1 light

I have had good experiences from them and the sling swivels are in stock. Only issues I know of are custom orders taking a while. But yes the rra option is a solid option as well.

Following the USMC adoption of the TA-31RCOM4 and TA-31RCOA4, the Army replaced its TA31F's with TA31RCOM150. The significant difference between the legacy TA31F ACOG's and the 'new' M150 was the reticle. The new reticle has horizontal stadia lines that assist with range estimation and enables a soldier, Marine, etc to call out indirect fire adjustments without taking their eye off of the target/optic.

As a sidenote, my Infantry battalion had TA31F's briefly, TA31M4's and then got fielded TA31M150's. The TA31M4's were deployment issued RFI but were not authorized by Army MTOE and were replaced by the TA31RCOM150's.

Stripped Upper Receiver Score!
DSA Receiver
I received an email notification for the DSA Stripped Upper Sale Price at $33 each.  The picture shows the split A forge code upper.  I ordered 2 because of the price including T Marks which were more expensive the last year.  They arrived today and the big score is;  They are Mueller forge code!  The last M forge code upper I bought from DSA was 3 years ago.  The price is back up to $62.

Realize this wouldn't work for a proper clone, but I got rid of the downward cant ny sliding on my Spikes 37mm, both over my KAC rail and the Ergo extension. Got the Havoc tightened on and then finally tightened down the Ergo.

Picked up from ffl. Only paid 65 for it. Ik not m4a1, but my first one was a m4 and a burst with gov profile so it's kinda fitting. I might change it out later or build a 1.5 with a m4a1 when they are available again. This is a long term project and this stripped lower became available and I had to jump on it.

It's just dust on the receiver not marks.

Nice!  I wanted one since it is the model I was issued, but I ended up with 2 M4A1 lowers that will have to do.  I think I paid $59.99 each just before everything blew up.  I had plans for 1 lower and was saving the other for a future build.  But I couldn't and replaced my issued M4 clone Anderson lower with the M4A1 PSA lower. Dam BRD!

While this may be veering off the Block 1, 1.5 and 2 discussions, I am trying to find out if the US military, Army in particular, uses offset red dots on M4A1's and if so, what optic and what offset mount.

My Block 1 is morphing into an MWS apparently (ACOG TA31RCO-M150 sight, ATPIAL-C/PEQ15 laser, Surefire M951, SOPMOD B5 Gen1 stock, Colt SOCOM barrel, ambi selector on a Colt M4 carbine) and I need to go off the reservation, so to speak, and put an RMR on an offset so the weapon has CQB capability.  I like cloning but need a real world defensive weapon more, but am trying to stay within mil-spec parts as much as possible.  If the military uses it then it's probably proven itself.

At the moment I plan to use an RM01 on a Trijicon 45 degree offset mount on the top rear rail behind the laser.

@Combat_Diver and anyone else who is in the know, thanks.

I retired from the Army in May of 2020. My last gig was in a light infantry battalion. Our authorized/issued optics were a mix of Aimpoint M4s, Aimpoint M4 and ACOG M150's. There were not any issued mounts or MRDS on our table of authorized equipment. Units like the 10th Mountain, 82nd or 101st might have an authorization for something. The SOPMOD program has the ECOS with the top mounted MRDS.

I have seen no use of Regular Army using a MRD.  SOCOM did use a MRD piggyback on top of the TA01NSN.

You looking for a fight with that association?

I did 82nd time a few years back. The very few offset dots I saw (all of two) were personal purchases.

When with USASOC, I saw as many personal purchases (lots of Vortex) as repurposed issued optics (Docters/Inisght MRDS/T1/T2) as offsets.

As far as I know, there is no offset RDS that will be "official" on Army MWS clones other than maybe the random COTS purchases that wound up in arms room during the earlier GWOT (think ACOGs with factory MRDSs/Docs - I saw some big Army dog handlers with those) days and are still on the books. Don't overthink the clone aspect, just do what you want to make your rifle work for you. Some dude at some point over the last 20 years has probably done it anyway.

Thanks to the posters above who responded with real world observations and knowledge and advice, I do plan to have this rifle usable and not just for photos, hence an offset.  The top mounted RMR on the ACOG just puts too much height for what I want.  I did not think the military officially used the offsets, but wanted to be sure.  I nearly got the TA01NSN since it has iron sights built in for close in work and is more clone approved but felt that was not really the way to go, plus that ACOG has no illumination in daylight or lighted conditions. I will for sure use an RMR, probably the RM01 with 3.25 dot, but the offset mount is still up in the air.  I'll post photos when I get it done.

As an additional bit of anecdotal into, I was mechanized infantry for all but 2-3 years.

The only optics I ever saw issued on our M4s and M4A1s were the M68 CCO, CompM4, TA-31 ACOG and Eotech 512. Some guys stole an M145 from a SAW in a couple cases, but that's it from the units I was in. ACOGs with RMRs were rare for us, but around.

At some point here I’ll swap out this upper for a cage code one, and still need to grab some clips for the bfg sling for it.

I guess I morphed my Block 1 into an MWS.  Changed out the M68 CCO clone to an ACOG M150 with an ATPIAL-C/PEQ15 and added an offset RM06.

@Combat_Diver

Hadn’t seen this addressed, any thoughts/feedback on the MMC SOCOM barrels that keep popping up? Are they something you’ve seen in the supply chain or are they some sort of reject?
