All,
I am trying to remove D-ring assembly, and i think I am doing nothing more then damaging my upper. Ok...is there some kind of pin I got to remove...I have spent a absolute shit ton of money buying special tool and parts and all sorts of shit. $50 AR wrench from midway..a fucking vise...hundreds of dollars on this endeavor, and cant seem to get that fucking D-ring off, what am I missing here?????

...have you removed the barrel from the receiver already?
And the front sight?
And the flash hider?
Gas tube?

The delta ring is disassembled with a simple set of snap ring pliers.... as long as you've taken the above steps already.

Did you remove the gas tube?

Are you removing just the delta ring or trying to remove the barrel nut?  If you are just trying to remove the barrel nut, then dont even mess with the delta ring, you can unscrew the barrel nut with it in place.

I have removed the old gas block, tube,flash hider, the ring on the flash hider. I mounted a vise to my desk (i live in an apartment) and as I tried to get the barrel nut off using the special wrench. I broke the desk trying to turn the barrel nut.

Are you trying to remove the barrel nut, or the delta ring? The barrel nut needs to come off first(The delta ring is attached to the barrel nut via a snap ring).
