would you pay $2200 for a brand new, never fired LWRC M6?  friend of a friend needs cash and wants to sell his.  ive never had any experience with high end ar's.  why or why wouldn't you buy it?  its the goldish brown one if that makes any difference.  lets see pics of yours if you got one.

I don't have new pics but the color is MRE (multi regional earth). I've since dressed it up with FDE furniture. I own serveral AR's and the LWRc is among the top in quality and function. Think of it as a affordable HK416 IMO. I've run them pretty hard so far. Buy with confidence.

No 2200 sounds like too much. What type of M6 is it? You can find new ones for that or less.

Here is an old pic of mine, replaced lower with LWRC lower, which has emod stock, miad grip, etc...

Maybe for the A3 but not the A2 or A1 which can be obtained for less than that.

Northwest Tactical, Scottsdale Gun Club, and Kneske are get sources for LWRC's. If your friend is hard up for money, show him what new ones go for and maybe he can match the price. friends are friends but cash is King..

Here's my M6A3 in multi-cam dura-coat.  As indicated by the earlier response; an M6A3 is worth $2,200.00 but prolly not the A2 with the recent drop in AR prices....although it is always good to help a buddy out.

Cheers

you have to find out which m6....not too long ago the m6a3 was i think $1899 and m6a2 was i think $1849, now they are $2299 or so.  you are paying nearly full retail for it.  also, how well do you know this person being a "friend of a friend"?  it has been my experience that if people need money, you should be able to get a deal or he doesn' t need the $$$ that bad.

Take a look at jBoy's first picture, or Redmasta's, and you'll see the model identification in white lettering on the left side of the upper.

As far as the lowers go; all are marked "M6" and the difference in furniture corresponds to the A1, A2, A3 designateion.  For example A3 = Miad grip plus EMOD stock.

Head over to LWRC's site.

The differences are pretty obvious.

The A1 is a standard carbine.

The A2 has the rails and all the extra goodies.

The A3 has the adjustable gas system.

$2200 is not a great price. Depending on the model it could match MSRP which is not what they generally go for.

Bottom line if it's an A2 or A3 I would reccomend picking it up, but you need to talk him down first. If he needs the money he needs to be more reasonable.

the above info is not accurate, in fact the only accurate portion is that the lowers are marked M6.  the m6a3 has adj gas and is midlength gas/piston setup, the a2 is non-adj gas and is carbine gas/piston - the A1, A2 & A3 designation is for the upper as the lower can be in different arrangements - w/ a ctr stock, emod stock, moe grip, miad grip, etc.  currently the A2 & A3 lower setups are the same w/ emod stocks, for a while the A2 had a ctr stock.  the A2 also has troy front and rear buis where the A3 has a troy rear buis w/ a front buis that is part of the gas block that does fold down.  w/ the A3 you can turn the gas completely off to make it a single shot if you want too.
op - look at the pics on the sgc website for the m6a3 - http://sgcusa.com/Rifles-LWRCI/c85_97/p3110/LWRCI-M6A3-16%22-Midlength-Adjustable-Gas-Piston-Black/product_info.html
here is the page for the m6a2 - now sgc is throwing in a remington 870 12ga for free

, so in this case the m6a2 just went down to ~$1900 or so- http://sgcusa.com/Rifles-LWRCI/c85_97/p2857/LWRCI-M6A2-16%22-AR-15-Carbine/product_info.html
also look here - http://www.lwrci.com/Products/tabid/56/Default.aspx

if it all turns out to be a full lwrc firearm and is a A2 or A3, i would think $1700-$1900 would be a deal for you.  if he has put other items on it, let us know and we will get you an amount for what those are worth.  i would personally take pics of it, come back home and research it to verify it is what it is - ask him to take the top rail off - it is very easy w/ the rail that is on them and have a look at the brl - that is where the markings are on at least the A3, i think for the others too but i am not 100% sure.  like others, i have an A3 sitting about 3' from me, so if you need something verified, lmk and i will take a look on mine.  lwrc made it very easy for people to see what upper they are running as you can see from the pics of mine below.

also have him take the carrier out and compare it to the one on sgc.  again, take pics if possible and then go back and verify.

lwrc rifles are by no means cheap, so even @ a deal of $1700-$1900 you need to verify what you are getting and it is in fact a full lwrc firearm.

No worries.  I was referring to the subtle difference in furniture configuration throughout the entire line of products.

M6=Moe Grip & Moe Stock
M6A1= Moe Grip & CTR Stock
M6A2 = MIAD Grip & EMOD Stock
M6A3 = MIAD Grip & EMOD Stock

i would personally take pics, come back and look them over too before 100% commitment.  sgc is offering the a2 w/ a remington 870 for 2199 so make sure you are getting a brand new unfired rifle because if not (w/ the exception of test firing), you could @ sgc for very little more when you add in the 870.  there should be little to no marks on the shell deflector and the feedramps.  for a while the a2 were coming w/ the magpul ctr stock but it looks like they switched to the emod, so keep that in mind too.

also, verify the caliber as they are available in 5.56 and 6.8 - it should s

they come w/ the rail covers, a pmag (or if 6.8 a barret mag), the troy buis f/r
