Anyone aware of any issues with CMMG lately.  I prefer a 16" mid length to go with my LMT lower or would you guys stick with LMT & get one of their M4 uppers?

How about a BCM 16" middy to go on your LMT lower? Not that much more expensive than a CMMG, and available as well.

I couldn't agree more.

Stick with the LMT or Bravo middie. I have both and I love them. You can't go wrong with either.

I'd like to get a BCM upper, but looks like a sizeable ($250) price difference to me.  Everyone's in agreement the BCM is that much better/reliable than the CMMG?

It's not that big of a  price difference. CMMG lists their complete 16" middy upper for $575. Regular BCM 16" middie upper is $475 (the cold hammer forged barrel version is $619), add $160 for a BCM BCG,  $44 for a CH and handguards and you're looking at  about $680 total. $105 difference..it's worth it

this is simply a personal preference, as i own both bcm and lmt,, if it was me i'd put a lmt upper on it,, keep it all lmt––––YMMV

Well, they're about $5 cheaper than the LMT upper you mentioned in the OP. If you are considering the LMT upper at that price but prefer midlength, I'd go with the BCM. If you don't care about midlength, get the matching LMT upper.

CMMG does have some long wait times recently. No doubt BCM is a great upper (maybe the best) and available NOW, but it's not much better. Barely, in fact.  I have LMT and I love it, but we have been reading reports here recently of QC issues.

I say get the BCM for the extra money and instant delivery, but, if you get the CMMG, be proud of the great decision you made.  They're top notch, too.

m4store.com has CMMG 16" midlength uppers complete in stock right now for $550 shipped.

Bravo Company total upper is $695 shipped
16" midlength = $475
BCG = $160
CH = $24
handguards = $20
shipping = $14

I love my CMMG...but I sold the BCG on the EE for $100 and I bought a BCM BCG for it...total was $615 and I'm happy with it.  Took the $80 I saved and bought a LaRue tactical rear BUIS.

Either way you'll be GTG, but the BCM is more expensive for a reason.

Thanks for all the good advise.  Leaning toward the BCM now.  When buying the bcg seperate, wouldn't I need to check for proper head space with the upper?

Buy the upper with one of their BCGs and don't worry about it...I mean...what other BCG EXISTS?

Realistically, if you buy a good upper and a good BCG ( i.e. the company that makes them is GTG) then you don't need to worry about headspacing.

I have a LMT 16" carbine gas system upper now on my LMT Defender 2000 lower and I have another midlength gas system carbine.

If I had to do it again I'll just get the BCM middy which is the same barrel steel Mil-B-11595E as LMT but the BCM is better because it's a midlength gas system with better reliability, more handguard area, smoother cycling, finished under the FSB and taper pins used on the FSB.

The BCM M16 BCG are mil-spec and fully tested same as the LMT BCG except lately the BCM have better mil-spec gas keys and proper staking.

If you want a more durable barrel get the new BCM Cold Hammer Forged barrel 16" midlength upper (link below) but the standard uppers are just fine for average AR guys.

LMT or BCM. I vote midlength, just because i like the extra real estate  for my hand. But i love my LMT M4.

Put an LMT upper on your LMT lower. It will thank you for it.
