Can anyone tell me why on some NEW SEMI AUTO AR-15 rifles there is the following engraved on the ride side of the lower receiver just below the ejection port >>> "Restricted For Law Enforcement Or Goverment Use Only"..........Is this because they were anticipating a ban back in the 1990's ?  Thank u to all...

No, it's because there was a ban from 1994 to 2004 and still is in some states. Otherwise the language is meaningless now.
