I did a lot of looking and couldn't come up with a decent/reasonable case for my carbine. Then, outta the clear blue sky, I get this catalog with IMO a great case for $18. Supposed to rx it tomorrow. Thought I'd post it here if any of you have the same dilemma. There's different lengths, and what I really like, room for extra mags and QD bipod in external pockets. BTW, never done business with these folks so CAVEAT EMPTOR. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=483068

I really like the bulldog hybrid cases.  It's "soft" case, but has a hard reinforced lining for extra protection, and are less than $50.

The one that fits would be my recommendation.

My Doublestar DS4WM4 measures 32 1/4 collapsed so I ordered the little guy 38". I would assume that's an external measurement and the inside case would be something slightly less. So, I wouldn't cut it too close when ordering.

+1

I really like the BullDog soft cases. You can usually find them on-sale at the large online dealers for $30.

They also float.

I'm leaning toward this one.

Read the reviews at the bottom of the page.  This thing is feature-packed.  Yes, I know everyone is bent at CTD and yes, I know it's probably Made in China.  But what are you gonna' do?

i really like my i-shot tcc case. probably more than what most folks would want to pay for a case though.

Well the CTD case looks like something they'd issue with my M-82 gear. BTDT, none for me thanx. The Bulldog appears to be pretty much the same cept for the sling and extra $30. Bein the Irish, ex-jarhead, retired construction worker that I am, I'll buy the little guy and take the $30 to the slop-chute.

Came today, very nice and it DOES have a shoulder strap. External pockets not quite big enough for bipod. I can get it in there but it doesn't fully close.

That is a nice one.  I ordered 2, 1 OD Green for the WASR AK and 1 Black for the AR, both 36"

They came in today, "Fits Like A Glove".  By the way there are different sizes they offer, 36" being the cheapest.  Ensure your have a collapsable stock for the AR, otherwise it might not fit in the 36".

The CTD cases are this brand:  http://condoroutdoor.com/product.php?pid=33&xcSID=0168bdfe943ca9190f62e12af8e68ac3

The only issue I had was 2 of the plastic buckles on the black one do not lock in all they way.  I have a email in to Condor and CTD to see if either can send me replacement black plastic buckles.  When you get yours snap'em in and pull on'em.  They should not unlatch.
