I was wondering if adding a burst fire mechanism requires a special lower receiver or if any of them could support it.

Read that link, it explains everything. If you want to go with a drop-in sear you need a low-shelf receiver.

Yes, it's called a pre May 1986 registered receiver which will cost you on average $10,000/$12,000+ plus a $200 tax stamp from the ATF with processing times. Otherwise you need a registered lightening link or registered drop in auto sear-both of which will also cost you on average $7,000-$8,000+ in addition to the same $200 tax stamp.
