I don't have a source, but have you placed a WTB ad in the EE?

you can contact this guy and get his source

or

This guys shows he has one can get one

But if neither, I would contact Larry Knesek, or Clyde Armory, as they have and/or regularly get Colt AR15 rifles.

good luck

I know its not much help but the Gander Mountain in Maumee, OH had one for sale about two months ago....wanted something like $1300.00 for it.

That's the only I've seen in a long time.

Re: This Guy, I've never seen an LEO marked MT6400.  BTW...  I have two, they're nice.  Might be selling the uppers if interested, LMK.

It is the only Colt AR variant that we can have in CT, and the CT State Police can only carry Colt rifles.. SO that is the only AR the CSP can carry on duty..

These are going to CT state Police officers that cant find them or dont have the meens to find them..

Try Tanner's

I can't gurantee anything, but they seem to always have good stuff in stock at good prices or have leads to where they can be found.

Hmmm... usually bans don't affect LEO's, only us pee-ons.  Interesting.

What's the difference between this one and Colt's other LE rifles?

It is the "Ban Era" model

Fixed, faux, collapsible "looking" stock

Has a muzzle compensator versus flash hider

Issued with (IIRC) 9 round magazine vs. 20 or 30 rounders

Has half circle carrier

What makes them special?

A) It is a Colt and whatever your perspective is on the company, they personify the AR15

B) It has "M4 Carbine" in the rollmark

C) 1/7 CL bbl. in 5.56mm

D) other than the ban-era-related features, it is a true civilian copy of the venerable M4

I believe it is the lower receiver itself that is so coveted. It is the only Colt rifle marked "M4 Carbine" other than the actual real-deal M4's. The 6920's do not have "M4 Carbine" marked on the lower, just "LEO Only".

Ideally? You would have a 6400C lower with a 6920 upper assembly. Although it is not a model Colt makes it would be the shiznit for civilian authenticity.

Here is a pic of mine with a Colt 14.5 SOCOM upper.

And a pic of the lower...

+1 on Gander Mountain, I've seen them at a few different GM's in Ohio.  Maybe they got a deal on them, though they certainly weren't passing the savings on to the customer as these were around $1400 ea.
