Ya, I know, "paint the CH and get a SD3G already. And where's the Short Dot PM??"

Patience dudes. RADness has to ferment a little bit.
Good job with that selector too...
@Jlgil73 Thanks man. It's going to be a close one. My charging handle doesn't say "Noveske" and my pic rail is a Geissele 5 slot, not a Noveske 5 slot... but, those are just words. All the parts are correct.

ETA: Let's get this page started off on the right foot: Gen 1 Chainsaw

@M4ger @Jlgil73 thanks guys, but it's a 10.5" LMT upper and I wouldn't want to offend the cloners by rattlecanning it and making it look more like a mk18. It's such an imposter

Maybe I'll trade the LMT for a Colt 10.3 upper and then I'll do it...I like to rattlecan!

They had that keymod rail in 2006? Or did you switch it out later?

12.5” Midlength out looking for MN whitetail a few weeks ago.

Originally had a Razor 1-6 but wanted to give the Strike Eagle a shot. Hard not to for the price. Not for me though.

Currently has Viper PST2 1-6 and I think that’s a good balance of quality and utility for me so it’ll probably stay that way for the foreseeable future.

This has definitely become a favorite of mine since it made its way into my hands.

By the looks the rifles are really early, probably even 2006 like you said, but that handguard has definitely been changed/added at some point

KeyMod is a universal interface system for firearm accessory components designed to supersede the MIL-STD-1913 accessory rails.[1] The concept was first created by VLTOR Weapon Systems of Tucson, Arizona, and released through Noveske Rifleworks of Grants Pass, Oregon, before being published open sourced in the public domain for adoption by the entire firearms accessory industry.[2][3][4] The name "KeyMod" was coined by Eric Kincel (then working for VLTOR Weapon Systems) following the naming trend of other VLTOR accessories with the suffix "Mod" meaning modular, and "Key" being a reference to the key-hole profile of the mounting slots.

You are correct my apologies it has been switched out I bought the lowers 2006 and built the uppers over time

Now pulled apart and waiting on a G mk4 fed on ODG and an 11.5” barrel at some point for an HRT somewhat look alike build.

Sounds corny but I still feel like I lucked out with this one! Shoots lights out, easy to carry, runs like a top, and (most importantly of course) it just LOOKS good doing it lol. Perfect shade of OD for the MN woods.

@TheHorrorTheHorror

It's cerakote H-231Q Magpul Foliage Green.

I believe John used KG Gunkote 2416F - Foliage Green, but I am not THAT particular with regards to cloning.

I should take more photos of it. Next time I'm home and the sun is still out I'll try to remember and update.

I snapped a few pics of it outside during this past hunting season, but the lower isn't clone correct (didn't have a trigger for the clone yet):

It's probably the most expensive/irreplaceable (at this point) build that I have and yet, I don't feel bad to take it out hunting. I feel like I'm honoring the memory of Noveske by dragging it through woods and using it to slay deer. It would be a dishonor to keep it in a climate controlled environment and to only shoot it occasionally. ARs don't make great heirlooms by themselves, it's the memories and experiences attached to them that make them novel. This is "Dad's hunting rifle" and my boys will probably fight over this one when I'm gone...So I'll just leave it to my little girl

Thanks for sharing, that's a pretty awesome build. Glad to hear that it's getting some good use. My Noveske build is by far the most expensive build that I have too.

Definintely post some pictures with the clone lower if you get the chance. Is it 300 BLK as well?

No problem man!

Yes. 10.2" coated in a matt-black high temp paint. It's almost an exact clone minus the sling swivel (easy fix), CH isn't painted (easy fix) and the pic rail attachment (unicorn so I'm rolling with the Geissele). I've been tempted to buy the First Spear/Noveske backpack like he had and tote it around in there, but I have a difficult time justifying a bag that expensive that'll essentially just sit behind the seat in the truck. A $200 plus backpack better be able to pack in hunting gear and pack out a quartered up buck.

It's a slick rifle man. I'm pretty sure that your rifle has convinced me to build a 300 BLK. I'd probably use a G Mk4 rail since I already have a full Noveske build, but still.....it could be awesome. I'm not sure that Noveske backpack is worth the price. For that price I'd grab a Kifaru pack or something.

Can anyone confirm if Noveske ships their NSRs with anti-rotation pins? Description doesn't say, but their "replacement screw and wrench kit" (OOS) has it.

Correct. It’s an Arisaka. I’m not going to replace anything I already have, but I see no reason to buy anything else moving forward.
