You've got a great setup there, and there are times when finding that correct setting just works wonderfully.  I will qualify my statement about leaving it alone though, and I think a bead blasted barrel would look awesome under those handguards.

Thanks for the input.  That's the way I am leaning.

Made a small change and added a couple accessories to the N6.  Changed the grip to an Ergo for added comfort.  I also added a small rail section out front for the bi-pod, some VZ G10 panels for control, and a QD sling mount to the rail.  All small changes, but make it much more useable.

I'd personally leave it as is cause it sounds like an awesome soft shooting build. Wear out that barrel over time and just pick up the Noveske parts over time and re-build after you've shot it out or feel the need for something new.

How do you like the Noveske upper on your KAC lower as to fit and any play, along with everything else overall?

I really like all my SR lowers but can't find the heart to mix match them with my Noveske uppers, must be an OCD thing ...so kept them on my Gen1 Noveske lowers.

[Last Edit: Rezarf2] [#23]
My second FULL build up. I wanted a KISS rifle... enough to fight/play with and nothing more.

All said and done this rifle came in at 5 pound 13 oz (Empty with no mag and without the Surefire X300u pictured).

Build Specs:

Upper

Noveske Upper Vltor MUR
Noveske NSR 13.5" NSR
Noveske BCG
Faxon 16" Pencil Barrel
Faxon ultralight .062" gas block
Battle Comp 1.0
Brownells melonite gas tube (mid length)
Noveske marked BCM Gunfighter CH
Daniel Defense fixed sight set
BCM Keymod rail covers
BCM Keymod QD sling mount

Lower
Noveske Gen 1 forged lower
CMMG LPK
CMC 3.5# flat trigger (friggen' sweet!)
Magpul MOE grip
Magpul MOE trigger guard
Magpul CTR stock
Magpul BAD lever
Noveske QD end plate
Tubbs Flatwire buffer spring
Carbine buffer (Brownells)

So light. So handy. The lightweight trend is awesome.

Thank you

I can post this picture too, since there is exactly 1 piece of Noveske on this SR-15: the QD endplate.

First berm is 200, 2nd is 315.  That was a fun day.

Im not trying to be an a$$, but I bought an N6, it doesnt make me any difference on costs of the magazines.  I prefer Lancers, but have several pmags as well.  No problems with either, but the N6 isnt a run and gun rifle for me.  Looking forward to seeing yours.  What glass are you going to top it with?

Here is is with a 10rd PMag.

It's ok, you can try to not be an ass and still be one. I should have expected nothing less from someone named Josh... since it's my name.

Seriously though, the difference is if the Lancers don't make a bit of difference over the PMags, then I'll appropriate funds to more useful stuff... like ammo.

Not sure on glass. Thinking Steiner T5xi but want to look through a VCOG. May also consider a 2.5-10 with RMR on top but I really don't have anywhere (yet) to shoot past about 250 yards.

LOL I did the exact same thing.

If I bought a pistol caliber rifle I still really want a PS90 for no other reason than to have, but this looks pretty tempting.

The interesting thing is, if they are already tooling the 10mm, the .45 should be an easy modification, but seems like they chose the 10mm for a reason. Although a well tuned 9MM would sell like hotcakes, especially if they'd sell the uppers and lowers separately or at least sell the complete gun with a pistol brace.

Well, 10mm, 9mm, whatever mm, it'll still be cooler than most that came before it simply because it is a Noveske. I've paid the premium for the roll mark and would do so again to fund the cool innovative things the company keeps rolling out.

10mm is one of the choices for a sidearm in Alaska's back country, mainly in a Glock, for the extra capacity.  I was always a .45 guy, and carried a Casull on me, and kept a 45-70 Guide Gun in the truck, and camper.
A 10mm SBR would make a cool camper gun.  I would like to see data for energy and velocity on the longer barrels.
