Back when I was in college I worked for BFI for a very short time.
If its a Stag/CMT tube then it is mil-spec. But we refuse to answer anymore questions because you didn't post pictures.

One more word out of you and you're fired. You Western Slope guys are always stirring up touble. And I ddin't haul trash. I was much further DOWN the food chain. I was a bill collector. On commission I might add. |

Bill collector....oooo.....ouch.....yeah, I'd rather be on the truck than that. Got stuck doing some of that once upon a time too. Just one more of those things I wouldn't do again even if I was starving.

I thought I read someplace, ar15, ? . . .that COLT gave CMT/STAG/S&W a hard time about using there Mil-spec stock, and pressured them into switching to the commercial tube.
? ? ? ? ? . . .not sure though. The stock in the pics above is a different shape from my Colt M4 stock. The area in front of the latch is radiused on the commercial stocks, and a sharp 90* on the Colt. Colt stock:

The tube size did not change, the shape of the M4 style stock body did.

I would keep your stock anyway
if anything add a saddle before buying a VLTOR etc MIL SPEC buffer tube only matters if switching out to a VLTOR or SOPMOD etc The mil spec are not THAT MUCH stronger I have 3 differnt ones The old Fiber lite VLTOR SOPMOD The SOPMOD is made like a TANK |
