Take into consideration the price, durability, and actual performance.
Is it the.......
Rock River Arms AR-15
or
Bushmaster AR-15

Always better to own both, isnt it JoseyWales?

The only problem is you will then be left wondering if you should have flipped for the Colt! j/k

There are many good makers out there today.  Personally, I'd buy (or build) the lower I want and put it on the upper I wanted.  Bravo Company, CMMG, DPMS, Stag, CMT, LMT, Daniels Defense.  How much do you want to spend and what "extras" do you want?  Knowing that can help.

Build, and you can have the absolute best components in your rifle.

Hesse! They are the best because the special forces use them. I only use weapons that are used by the special forces. So I routinely pack heat via HiPoint .45 Trashomatic 5000 and a Hesse M4 on my special ops.

ETA: In my rush to post something stupid I forgot to add I own 2 Bushmasters and a Rock River lowered mutt. I like em both. My only complaint with Rock River is that the tolerances are reaalllly tight.

Im likeing LMT for now!

I pick Bushmaster over rock river because of the LW Barrel,M4 Barrel,20Goverment barrel
Plus mine have been OUTSTANDING!

Whatever gives you the shooter most confidence .

I like my mutt A1ish better than my old SP1 .

ETA M-16 A1 upper and stock , DPMS guts and an M-15 Eagle (Armalite) lower .

Too hard to pick one clear cut winner. Both are great.

Colt, LMT.  I just go with what I used in the military.

+1   I dont remember how many different companies I have in mine.

Whenever someone asks my buddy what make his is:  "Its a AR mutt."  (kinda gotta know the guy for it to be funny)

I've had Bushy and DPMS.  So far I don't see any real difference in the 2 rifles I've owned.  They both go.  POP! POP! POP! POP! POP! POP!  Yeah Baby! YEAH! I took my DPMS out this afternoon and destroyed  some beer cans.  I don't think they pose  a threat anymore.

I have 2 frankin ARs that I love ,  both on DPMS lowers and Colt small hole uppers. The favorite is a xm177 upper the other is real sweet to its on a SP1 upper. Like them both better than my factory built Bushy and RRA

Both are great rifles but I will take the standard chrome lined 4150 bbl of the Bushy over the 2 stage trigger in the RRA (which I don't want) any day.

If I were to pick one it would be the Bushmaster M4, over the Rock River due to the varied barrel weight choices.  I do like the two stage trigger, and the tighter tolerances of the Rock River though.

I prefer to build my own.  I've owned a few BM's but no RRA's.  I've been very impressed with Stag/CMT.  Very nice machining, those guys.

My buddies bushmaster is a fine weapon my RRA is a fine weapon.
However the fit and finish of my RRA is tighter.
