It's been a while now that I've been selling off verious rifles, handguns and optics
to get down to an AR collection that I feel covers all my bases in terms of needs and wants.

I got it down to four and I will NEVER EVER buy another non-308 AR again. I have each rifle I want, the optic I want, the lights I want, the mags I want, the ammo I want, the grips I want, etc.

It's been tough going form a 10-4 AR collection, but I really wanted 4 AR's that had everything I wanted and nothing I didn't.

Quality over quantity kinda phase.

Anyhow

The second to last piece of the puzzle - the tripower - came yesterday from a warranty repair.
This rifle has everything that I want in a general all around all purpose AR.
RRA 16 in A4 with match trigger and Phantom FH
Troy midlength rail over a shaved gas block
G27 Grip
MAgpul trigger guard
VLTOR clubfoot stock with SOG pad
Tripower on QRP
Aimpoint magnifier on twist mount
ARMS 40L and YHM front buis
OP9 light on DD mount
Grip Pod aluminum
10 30rd Okays with magpuls
10 20rd Colts with magpuls

the final piece of the collection came today - custom rifle from Ameetec.
I picked every single part.  It truly is 'MY' rifle.
Each part was chosen by me for my ideal rifle for launching my collection of large bullets:
18 inch 1:8 fluted barrel midlegnth gas system with PRI low gas block
Vortex FH
Samson HG
Ameetec Upper and Lower
Ameetec Chrome Bolt Group
RRA Match Two Stage trigger
Magpul Trigger guard
SPR grip
Vltor A1 clubfoot stock with SOG pad
dpms mangonel front and troy rear BUIS
Super Sniper 10x in QRW rings on a larue 5/8" QD riser base
Harris bipod on ameetec base.
10 colt 10 round mags
400 rounds of mk262
200 rounds of BH 75 Gr BTHP
200 rounds of BH 77 Gr BTHP
400 rounds of BH 68 Gr BTHP

did I tell you it's fluted yet?

more fluting!

all my AR's....

uuhhh?  I don't know if

A) you don't know what you're talking about

or

B) you mean I should buy a LL and make them NFA guns?

Very, very nice.................But how about a plain old iron-sighted Colt 6601?

Great collection though.

you know, it's people like you that drive a man broke.  I figured that with Mk 262 out of a 1:8 18" barrel, that was all the length I needed.

it's people like you..............

yeah I saw a colt lightweight on the EE for under a grand.  VERRRRRRRRRRRRRRY tempting, but like I said, I'm done.
I don't think its gonna be easy, but I really can't buy anymore.

The AR10 I'm spying is a used one in perfect condition.  A2 KISS rifle.

Yes as others guessed I was saying you should SBR the bottom two.  I was not implying they were illegal SBRs which is what you must have thought I meant.

Very nice rifles, chapperjoe!

Since you went from ten AR-15 rifles to four, it time to go to the next level and go from four semi-auto AR-15 rifles to one full-auto M16.

Very nice collection!  Love the pistol!  What BUIS do you have on it?

What are your thoughts on your Trijicon vs the EOTech/holosights?  I'm considering one or the other for a possible mid-length bull barrel build.

Nice looking rigs.

That's nice to know four is enough ARs and that's it, no more?

I'm currently building my AR number 4, I guess I could stop after this one, NOT!

I'm planning on at least 6 ARs, which includes a 6.8 mm SPC and a 7.62 mm NATO.

OK, you do have the A15s nailed.   I would challenge you as to you're choice of .308s to collect?  I would vote for the M14 or FAL platform before the AR10.

PS....Like I can talk, I only have 3 ARs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Just traded my 4th for a M1A and I gotta say, I'm very happy.

buis on the pistol is a dpms mangonel.  nice and low.

never getting a 20 incher again.  nothing my 18 incher can't do with 262 that a 20 incher can.

Isn't hard to figure out what DevL is trying to say.

The pistol is worthless and I can't see how you rationalized getting rid of 6 other ARs over that one unless you are going to SBR it.

Same as on the 9mm carbine.  That would be one of the last variants I would have if a wanted a "well rounded" collection.

You will own more again.  In the mid 80s, I divested myself of ARs and had accumulated lots of desirable foreign made AWs.  Now I no longer own  those with the exception of the FALs.  My AR collection grows as cash permits.  Always a variant I must have.

I have to say I agree with your approach and have recently decided to do something similar. For me, I think 3 - 5.56mm AR's will do it. 1. SHTF M4gery. 2. Precision oriented rifle with FF rail and magnified optics. 3. Basic KISS lightweight carbine.

I figure #1 is my "working gun". #2 is for practicing my marksmanship and longer range shooting. #3 is my Plinker\newbie training tool\"Just because I want it" AR. No need, for me anyway, for any more then that. Sure there are plenty of other setups I would like to have but there comes a point where it just becomes silly because you can only shoot so many. The more you have, the less time you have to shoot each one. I would rather learn to shoot 2-3 very well then 5-6 so-so.

#1 is 95% done. #2 & #3 are works in progress.

It's a great feeling isn't it?  Guess what though, it may not last.

I built two test bed guns to decide which parts I liked best, and after that wound up with these two.  The only problem is, I now want an SBR to suppress.

My thinking is, though, that you can accomplish alot with multiple uppers.  I bought a DPMS .22LR upper which works great for training newbies.  My plan is to keep the KISS rifle the way it is and swap out uppers on the bottom one to SBR, long range, and .22 LR.
