[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Experiences with Wilson Combat's Bolt release?

Anybody use Wilson Combat's huge bolt release. I feel like the stock one is new small for my monster hands, but I'm not sure I need one that's this damn big!

Are there any other aftermarket releases out there?

Saw one that came loose pretty easily, but thats just one. I couldnt say how most of them hold up. Do you do a type of shooting that prohibits you from smacking the standard latch with your palm? That is the most taught method and seems to work well for most everyone I have ever seen.

Yeah I used to do that, but the problem is I use the GG&G EOtech mount,

and now my hand can't get in there to hit the release with out running into the latch. So I grab the magwell for reference, and then squeeze it with my thumb.

OK, I can see that. Those Acu-Cam mount stick out very far from the rifle. My GF has an Acu-Cam on her M4, but the EoTech mounted far enough forward so that we've never noticed it to be an issue.

While never having seen the combo together, I dont think the extended Wilson catch will fix the problem. The catch really doesnt stick out further, its just bigger.

Yeah, I wish the bolt release was a one piece instead of using a set screw. The only other alternative I see is DPMS' release and I don't think it's designed very well.
