Hi,

I was hoping that I could get some help on an illustration. I'm having a tough time finding images of an AR stripped barrel without the barrel extension installed. Does it thread onto the barrel extension? What does a Barrel Indexing Pin look like? I also need a picture of an Ejector

Does anyone have their AR in pieces that they wouldn't mind taking a few snap shots to help me out. I'd really appreciate the help. This is what I've been working on.

I'd appreciate any suggestions and/or help.

Terrific Image. Can you share a higher resolution version of this?

Yes.  The bbl screws into the bbl extension and there is a little hole in it.  You drill threw this same hole and just a bit into the threads.  Then you put the indexing pin in this hole and hammer it down.  Its just a little pin.  A little rod.  Then you have an index and can drill gas port, locate markings at TDC, drill for FSB pins, etc.  Someone on here should be able to post a picture of the index pin.

Because the extension is installed at the factory and will NEVER be removed.  The gas port is drilled based on how the barrel extension is screwed in.

If you want a photo of a barrel before the extension is installed then contact Randall of www.AR15barrels.com.  He custom manufactures AR-15 barrels and will probably have such a photo.

What does a Barrel Indexing Pin look like?

It's a short pin that sticks out of the top of the barrel extension.  It's about 1/16" in diameter and sticks out 1/10" of an inch or so.
