I shot my new bushy today for the first time. I know the buffer spring thwang sound is normal but it is really annoying. Does it annoy anyone else and is there a way to stop it? I am not complaining, just curious.

The spring sound doesn't bother me at all. Lets me know I am shooting a black rifle.

There is no way to completely get rid of it, but greasing up your spring a bit might help. Eventually, you will just get used to it.

use some moly grease on spring and be liberal

That's a great way to attract all sorts of grit and gunk too.

There's no reason to put anything on the spring whatsoever.

According to TM-9-1005-319-10, the only maintenance the receiver extension requires is a light coating on the inside.

Actually, I find posts on this subject far more annoying than the sound of the spring functioning.

Jjust kidding but seriously, you know it's normal so learn to ignore it. Focus on hitting what you're aiming at and forget about the "sproing" sound. I don't even notice it any more but I do notice it if I don't hear it (rifle doesn't cycle for some reason.

The spring rattling sound when you hit the buttstock or something makes the weapon just seem cheap, but I eventually got over it and don't even pay attention to it anymore.

Yeah, and you'll never have to worry about hearing your wife/girlfriend nagging either. Nothing like standing under a covered range about 4 feet to either side of the shooter when someone touches off a round.
