I want to order a 16" superlight barrel assebly from Bushmaster. Will be taking off a 14" with perm attached AK brake.  Wondering if there has been any issues with light barrrels?  

Also, Will I need anything more than a barrel wrench and vice block to make the swap?

LW barrels have been around for ever, and swapping them is no big deal.  If you have any skills you should be fine.

so you are planning to cut the bbl. down to 14"?


will need a set of punches or at least the one to remove the gas tube. the superlight barrels are great.

Thanks Stickmam....I pretty sure I can swap 'em with no problem.

eklikwhoa,   Nope not cutting anything, Swapping barrel assemblies.  there is a 14" with ak brake on there now...was bought under the ban, nutered and permanently attached brake.  Will be swapping to 16" superlight with threaded barrel and bayo lug.

If you run into any problems, post it and we will get you up and running in no time.  The LW carbines are a lot of fun, especially when kept basic.
