The first thing is that I hate shooting in the rain, especially now in Wa. But there is good news if you arleady do not know. The newly relocated Champion Arms in Kent, WA, allows you to shoot your AR in there indoor range.

I would also like to know what qualifies the AR for a mid gas operating system.  I have an Oly LTF 16" fluted barrel.

Oh I just joined. I have been doing alot of research about the AR. I just built my first lower and was bit hard by that damned bug. now i want to build one for anyone and everyone.

I would post the first bit of your post in your hometown forums.

AR's can generally come in 3 diff. gas system lengths (carbine, mid and rifle).  So to make it as simple as possible, where the gas hole is cut on your barrel will decide what kind of gas system it will use.

Wrong section for WA state announcments, check out the WA hometown forum, though Champions Arms has already been discussed quite a bit over there.  Its nice to see places allow indoor rifle/ carbine.
