I have a Bushmaster complete lower receiver that "was manufactured on 9-3-94 as a rifle." according to my serial number inquiry to Busmaster.  Are there any states where a rifle made on that date is pre-ban?  I know that some states passed their bans before that.  Thanks for your help on this.  If so any idea to the value of this as a complete lower in good but used condition with no major scratches ,etc.

The AWB was on Sept. 13, 1994 (If my memory is correct.)  So if that date is correct it would be pre-ban for states like Massachusetts.

You could trade it for another Bushmaster lower.

Or you could charge extra.  Depends on your personality.

BTW:  I have a post 1994 Bushmaster that I could trade

Yes that date is correct, that is straight from Bushmaster.  Anyone else?  Any other states?

Its NY legal, are you selling or trading?

Of course I question that law as ex-post-facto since it was passed in 2000, under cover from the expired fed law.

For Bushmaster first off the serial# has to be 63000 or lower for preban and then it would have had to leave the factory as a complete rifle.Stripped lowers that cannot be proven to have been complete rifles even if the serial#s are in that range cannot be made into a no ban type rifle. In my state of Massachusetts our ban mirrors the former federal ban and preban rifles can still be bought and transferred here.Post ban rifles are also still legal Here. As long as it was a complete rifle before Sept 14 94 its good to go.

Yes I have confirmation from Bushmaster that it was shipped as a complete rifle.  The serial number is below 63000, as it is in the 61000 range.  The last one that I saw sell on the EE was $450, is this an average price for a pre-ban bushy lower, complete?  Tis rifle was a complete Bushy that was reworked into a Vietnam Clone Xm-177 for reenacting use.

Depends on where you are selling it.I picked up a pre ban Bushmaster 20" rifle up my way for $1150 so thats like $600 for a complete lower as the uppers are like $550.$450 is a good price..$100 more than what it would cost for a new lower assembled from them.So $100 more over actual cost is great especialy if you live where it has to be pre ban to have it the way you want it.I have 2 other Bushies I got factory new in 92 serial  #s in the LO56 range

Ah I hate CT's gun laws.

Here, any Pre 94 weapons need to be rendered inoperable, destroyed, or turned into law enforcement within 90 days of entering the state.

That would be preban legal in NY.

Depending on how munificent your nature is, you might offer to swap it with a NY member for a new postban Bushmaster lower.  If not, post a WTS on the EE and I'm sure it will be gone fast.

Where do you come up with this stuff? Unless it is on the list (i.e. Colt Sporter, Colt AR15, FNFAL, AK-47 or like, etc..etc) it can come in the state, and can be configured anyway you want as long as its pre-94.

BTW, is this lower sold yet?? If not drop me a email...

Thanks
