Anybody have any field tested opinions on the PSG-1 style grip for the AR?
Best place to get one?

If everyone hates that style, then what's the next best option for "long range"?

I had one for a while and it was ok.  Honestly, I prefer to use hogue grips on all my firearms.  Much more comfortable and the feel is great.

Did the palm rest actually help you or was it just in the way?

IMHO, the grip is best suited if you are going to be doing a lot of prone or benchrest shooting. Since the shelf is adjustable, you can adjust it to fit your hand.

You may also want to check out this grip as well, it looks like it would fit nicely on almost any application:

Well, the gun will be shot ONLY prone or bench.  It's going on a very heavy single shot AR.

Well, that's the design I'm talking about.

But not the price range.

Good question... I'm curious as well. For a while I was hung up on this style grip.... mostly because I thought it looked pretty cool (thanks to the PSG-1).

I've kind of lost interest in it now, but I'm curious if anyone thinks it's worth it or if it's usefulness doesn't extend past cosmetics.

Thanks for the links!
I'm still wondering if the palm rests become a burden on your wrists under heavy recoil.
