Very nice. It's begging for an ACOG.

Why dont you like a socom stock with single pt. sling?

Tact 3 pt slings can do everything a 1pt can and a hell of a lot more.

Not fair if this is your first upper and it's nicer than any of mine. You've got to pay your dues first!

You're right. It can also get in the way of the bold release.

I think he's sounding off about the SOCOM Ace Stock

You went "first class-plus" on every single component of your first rig, and topped it off with a 3rd rate stock (some would rank it 3rd)

Now if you have all those great components and add a LMT/SOPMOD or Magpul 93B, or even Vltor, you are atop the heap

Great gun, by the way, congratulations!!

Ya im probably going 2 eventually replace the stock, cuz im already getting tired of the socom and ive only had it for 2 months. When i get more money i will replace it, but this build cost me a boatload of money so it might be awhile.

Well if i didnt spend so much on this build i would have bought an eotech, aimpoint and acog like i was going 2 when i was going 2 build a KISS m4 type upper. I went all out though so i cant afford optics just yet.

we know the feeling

an ACOG can cost you nearly the same as a complete AR!!!!

FWIW: I use the ACOG TA31 (donut reticle) which is a great choice-- whenever you get to that stage.

but they have come out with the TA31RCO, and there are many who rave about the TA31F, and other models. ahhhh choices, choices!

Heck, some even like the EOTechs and AimPoints ........

Yeah if someone would buy my 9mm Beretta Storm thats been on the EE for the past 4 months then i might be closer 2 buyin optics for this build.

I have trouble transitioning from strong to weak with a 3 pt, thus I prefer the single pt.

Ya i still cant believe that i bought all that as my first ar. My lower was sitting all alone for the longest time and i was constantly changing wut i wanted to do with it, but im satisfied with the setup i selected, for now at least. Now i gotta save up for optics and possible another upper eventually. And of course it will be something unique and definately built by Denny.

Upper arrives tomorrow and hopefully i will be getting some packages of goodies that i ordered from Bravo Company and from G&R Tactical. I might be able to post pics tomorrow night.

That beats the hell out of my first AR! That's a sweet build, can't wait for the range report.

Ya i have 2 locate and purchase some good match grade ammo and see how tight of groups i can get with troy buis's.

I have some preview shots of the finished build. Im still waiting on some of my parts so it isnt 100% complete but it gives u a good idea of the base gun before adding accesories. Im to lazy 2 resize them so they are thumbnailed. Enjoy

Wow. Most of us dont have an AR that nice, and we are on our 5th or 6th...

Holy shnikes....nice man! And your first...I'm totally impressed. That was an excellent choice with the 13.2in. Larue...I love the look of it with that short barrel.

If you wanted to make me scream more like a little girl with excitement joy you could put a magpul stock and an ACOG on there...and a Magpul MIAD grip...OooOOOooo! But again its already incredibly cool the way it is!

Now that's a first AR.

I almost screamed like a little girl when i saw 3 packages sitting on my porch waiting to be opened. Im still waiting on my M900 from Bravo Company and some parts from G&R but all my other stuff i got today.

I really didnt think that many people would be that impressed with my build, seing as there have been some awesome builds on this board in the past.

Very sweet. Glad you went with the 6-pos stock.

Thats the stock that was on my lower when i purchased it. I just decided against installing my SOCOM for now. Still not sure whether i want 2 use it or try another stock. The 6 pos looks good on it though, but it isnt top of the line like the rest of the stuff on my build.

I was thinking... "ok, let's look at this new guy's stock Bushy or something, tell him howdy, and way to go."

THEN I SAW YOUR UPPER!  WOW!  Most people don't learn about all that stuff until AFTER they buy the rifle.  I can see you're a "measure twice, cut once" kind of guy.

Congrats, and "nice rig."

My thoughts exactly.

My first AR was a 14.5" HBAR with an A2 upper.

You did a MUCH better job, Lenaburg.

Just wait until i get the rail panels on it, the enhanced trigger guard , an ACOG and maybe a M93 stock. After that i cant think of anything else that can be done to it, other than a paintjob or some kg gunkote

Hopefully im going out to the range this week, so a range report is coming soon. Unfortanately i only have my troy buis, and less than match ammo so groups will not be that impressive, however it will give you an idea of the accuracy of this system with less than stellar ammo and irons.

Have you shot it yet? I'm interested to see what you think of the Krink.

I havent shot it yet. Denny test shot the upper for me before he sent it out 2 me, and he said it shot 2" groups with mil surp M855. He also has the KFH on some of his guns like his 10.5" Noveske which shoots 5/8" groups with match ammo, and he said that there is a big enough difference with and without the KFH that it is worth having. I trust what he has to say.
