I need to know what the rough manufacture dates are for the following for a freind of mine (all internet searches proved fruitless, all I know now is they were made after 1978):

Colt SP1: SP2066XX and SP1988XX.

Colt AR15 w/triangular handguards, A1 upper, etc., basically like an SP1 except it has a forward assist and the serial number is a bit different: CJC0129XX.

I think you have to call Colt and ask them

My 205,xxx was made in 1984
