Are these really NOT chrome lined? Or is that a mistake on Stag's site?

Also, are they HBAR, or govt profile?

Bravo Co. site states that they are chrome lined. Maybe it's just a mistake on Stag's site.

Bravo's webpage is also saying that it's gov't. profile.

Stag needs to improve their website because you could get better info from their dealers.

Nice to see they are expanding their lineup.

Too bad I'll never buy a complete rifle............the parts will be nice, though

That price seems high for a Stag

It's $66 more than their carbine model with carry handle which goes for $949.

They should have priced it at least $995 to $999 just to make it look better for marketing.

I believe that it is a HBAR and that's why its not chrome lined.

Per Bravo's hint:

E R Shaw Government Profile 20" Barrel, from CMT
4140
1/9 Twist
Chrome Lined Bore and Chamber
Flat Top Upper with Laser Etched T-marks, from CMT
F-marked Front Sight Base, from CMT

I think what bravo is offering and Stag is completely different. Stag is offering a 20" HBAR , not Chromelined, A2 FSB, 1/9 twist, 4140.

Who must one kill to get a company to offer an A2 gov't profile 1/7 rifle right from the factory without special orders and such?

Sorry, small rant that seemed on-topic.

What you stated is new to me. Please show your references that will support that Stag has a 20" HBAR, non-chromelined, A2 FSB, etc.

The Stag website doesn't have any details about the barrel, it just shows that the barrel is 20" 1/9 twist. All the other carbine models are all 16" chrome lined 1/9 twist.

Bravo stated on the third post of this thread that he's selling the upper half of this new Stag rifle.

Bravo Company MFG, Inc. (BCM) is working on the barrel that you want.

Here's their description of their new barrels:

All barrels will have factory M4 feedramps (as will all upper receivers)
All 5.56 NATO barrels will have 1/7 twist
All made from Milspec 4150 barrel steel
All barrels will be chrome lined
All barrels will have the taller milspec F-marked FSB, .750
All barreled uppers will be flat tops with laser etched T-marks
All 5.56 NATO barrels will have the government profile under the handguards (some possible exceptions for future special profiles)

The first profiles that will be released will be 16" M4, then 20" government , then 16" Mid length (government profile).

As a note, the details are being worked out for a Group-Buy on the BCM 16" Mid length barrels through Grant at G&R Tactical.

They're stating according to their thread (link below) that the first model 16" M4 will be released by September and the 20" will follow shortly after that.

Looks terrific

I think there is a resurgence going on with 20"er's but it wont be as big as the carbine craze.

Stag is an up-and-comer

Thanks for the clarification. Yes I know what ASS-U-ME means.

My first day at work, my trainer was a Vietnam veteran and that was the first lesson he told me.

That was about 27 years ago.
