This has me thinking a bit more on this. It would make a nice addition to my aimpoint  and add an option to the set up. How much are those puppies anyhow?

Very nice! I'm a Dissy fan anyway, but that is a sweet set-up.

Nice setup!

How much does the 3X magnifier decrease FOV?

How big is the dot on that 3x magnifier? (Does it have a dot? I'm a bit ignorant of what the aimpoint 3x entails)

That's a real nice setup.

I'm upgrading my A2 to an A3 20-inch Gov't. barrel. I already have my Samson MRFS-R, YHM flip up FSB and Vltor club foot stock so far. I still need a Magpul MIAD grip, BUIS and optics.

Which one would be better for a 20-inch rifle the Aimpoint 3X with M3 or an ACOG?

Neil,
While cool looking, that sucker has got to be fairly nose heavy.

I just put a dissy together myself and had to think long and hard about adding an extra 18oz or so over the barrel with the MRF-R (I decided against it).

Sure is sweet looking though.

I think a YHM lightweight freefloater would fit the bill perfectly.

Nice set-up. All it needs now is a Magpul stock to balance it out.

I feel stupid asking this, but where is the best balance point?

I like mine in the center of the magazine well or further back.

Light weight is a relative term and the YHM tubes aren't "light weight" as compared to others.

Nice build NAG.  Any mods required to the gas block under the handguard?
