I would run a patch or 2 down the bore with some clp then a couple of dry patches before you shoot it. I wouldnt say it is absoluty necesary but it wouldnt hurt.

it works fine, it was a PCR with an A1 upper. never had a problem with it. |

I always clean any firearm I've received, before I shoot it. Not only to make sure to get any crap out that shouldn't be there, but also to inspect it for defects and proper function.
