So I guess you don't like LMT or Colt? Two of the best companies out there?

Stickman,

I just got the Bushmaster catalog yesterday, I only saw a 1:8 in their DCM catagory. I am in the market for a 16" barrel or full upper and mostly see 1:7 twist mentioned on the LMT for sale stuff in the EE site.  Maybe they can be special oredered?

Thx

Bushmaster does have some 1/7 barrels available. They are not listed in their catalog, just give them a call.  I was able to get a 14.5" 1/7 M4 barrel from them about a year ago.

Is there a particular reason you need 1/7? if 1/8 is okay with you then why not just get a bushy 1/9?

I don't think bushy makes a 1/7 m-4 bbl do they?
Never mind, you posted yours while I was typing Rocky.

Nothing wrong with LMT from what I've read and they would be my first choice at this point.  Colt would be fine; and I have one. I'm just not buying anything more from Colt just like I didn't buy any Smith & Wesson products until their ownership changed to a more civilian "gunner friendly" approach  business practice.

Sorry, you get what you pay for in this case. Not a knock on CMMG ( I don't have any to compare ), but I know what I'm getting with Colt and LMT. This is also why I only run Colt bolts in my 5.56MM gas guns, including LMT.

CMMG has a good selection of Mil Spec Barrels in 1-7.  Crome Lined, M4 Profile, Very Good Guarantee.  You can get a Barrel, or a  Barreled T Marked Flat Top Upper, with or without Bolt & Carrier.  Jeff also spends some time on this site.  The CMMG folks are also into using the equipment they sell, and promoting it's use through competition,  not just taking your money for a product they sell.
I have talked with Jeff on the phone, and through several E-Mails, and he is extremely helpful on answering your questions.  I have been looking at quite a bit of equipment lately working on 3 seperate M4 projects.  CMMG and LMT would be my first two choices on barrels, with Colt on the list if you could find a Colt 16" barrel for $275 - $300, which I consider to be the maximum I would give for a barrel made by anyone.  I saw a listing on Colt barrels earlier in the week for $500, that is totally insane.  The Government gives less than $600 for the complete rifle.  Take a look at the products made here in Missouri by CMMG.  www.cmmginc.com    CMMG also has some other AR16/M16 items for sale, all are top quality.

I have a Bushy 14.5" 1:7 that I purchased from Eaglefirearms.net

It's a great piece, chrome lined bore and chamber.

If you've never seen a Colt bolt fail, you need to.  It happens, they are made to be replaced, they are a throw away part.

Stickman,

Yes, I have seen Colt bolts go TU. My point was they have been/are the most reliable, although I am now running some LMT bolts. I will be honest, I gave up on all but Colt bolts over 10 years ago. I also always have a spare. Without enough trigger time with the LMT yet, I will still have Colt bolts as spares.
