Did Colt ever make an AR in the lightweight barrel carbine configuration like Bushmaster, with a 1/9 barrell?  If so, does anyone here know where I might find one in the DFW area???

Ryann ...

I've dealt with Ed at HDPS and I'm satisfied with the way he does business.

I don't know if this will help you out, but if you e-mail him, I'm sure he'll help you out. Ed will also wheel and deal fairly.

Hope this helps.

The Colt R6520 Gov model is a lightweight 16" carbine-it has a 1/7ROT barrel though.

I have never owned a complete 6520, but I did have a 6520 upper a while back. I ended up trading it for a large collection of spare parts.

I have 3 Colt Lightweight Barrels. 1 on an LEO Government Carbine made shortly after the Ban, one on a Lightweight Sporter made shortly after the Ban, (NOT marked LEO but came with a FH, but no lug. Trade in from an agency, so probably came that way. PROBABLY because they wanted a fixed stock. We got 4 traded in just like it. [ALL sold.]) and a Government Carbine upper, about the same age. All in Colt Grey and all 1/7 twist.

Dunno when they switched to 1/9 twist, but these uppers are all from the mid 90's, according to the Colt Grey Factory Finish. All are small pivot but neither lower on the two complete rifles are drilled for the detents, using instead the fake push pin with the screw in the other side. Going to have my gunsmith drill both for me.
