I am looking for an upper to build a plinker/varmit gun. I was wondering if the front site will come off this upper? I ask because I would like to mount a scope on it. I just don't know how comfortable a scope mounted on a carrying handle would be to shoot.

you can order it either way buy using the pull down menu for "Select front sight/gas block". the weaver style gas block will have a rail on the gas blcok and no front sight.
