Looks great. But please paint the flash hider then repost. Thanks!

I didnt paint the fh cause I thought the flame would just ruin the finish. I'll take it into consideration, being that its a bake on, I'd have to take it all apart .... again. But thanks for the sugestion!

its a krylon ultra flat that I sprayed on after an extensive cleaning. after I sprayed it on I baked every part in the oven at 400 for 10 minuites. Let it cool and repeat. It turns out pretty thick so cover things you dont want oversized but its pretty tough too. The thing that took me soo long was I took the gun COMPLETLY apart every spring and roll pin was removed. It was actually kind of fun. I'm glad you like it, thanks for the comment!

yea me too. I get shivers when i think of takeing the upper apart again........huhuhuhhhhh

KG Gun Kote Flat Dark Eath. |

Your probably talking about the KNS Non rotational pins. There super schveet! they positively stop pin rotation by locking the two pins included together with the connecting bar things, thats what you see in the picture. I think they look really cool, weather or not I was actually concerned about pin rotation. But hey, I just painted my ar kaki, so what does it matter to me |
thats really cool! does it have much glare in the sunlight or is that mostly from your nazi flash?
It's my paint-bubbling flash that's doing it.... it's Flat Dark Earth Alumahyde 2.. I'll try to get a good outdoor pic of it tomorrow in the daylight.
Order it direct from Brownells... |
Affirm, I think they are the only supplier. |

Makes me want ot paint one of mine. Now which color? I'm just an OD type though.
Excellent gun porn folks.
I'm not quite brave enough to color my AR, but I'm going to start small, maybe with the beat up Ruger Mk2 I have laying around here somewhere. |
nice work ggllggll !
having been to Montana recently, Ihave to say your choice in camo fits the environment. Beautiful state, Beautiful AR |
The sand looks great. You did a good job but , personally, I'd go ahead and give it some sharply contrasting stripes. Dark earth brown, OD or even black (or a combination of all) would really break it up.
Gun looks great. You must be worried about somebody swiping it with that 1911 "cocked and locked" above it in the pic.
Great looking rifles. I like the looks of those, but they would stand out like a sore thumb here in KY.
Well, I don't know about KY, but brown and brown-based camo is very effective in Indiana.
First of all, thanks everyone for you comments. Second, in MT there's not so much sand as there is dead sage and grass. Everything is kaki out on the plains. I thought about going with a few contrast stripes but I think I'll leave it the way it is for now. Thanks again! |

Hey QS, If you don't mind me asking, how and what do you use to maintain your M4-96D? I am always having trouble with mine sticking open after just a few rounds. Any help would be appreciated!
You mean the mount, I assume? Are you using the right grease on it?
I finally got a bearing puller to disassemble mine.
I like it but would like to see the pins the same color as the rifle.
It sounds getto but I use a piece of copper pipe insulation thats about an inch and a half thick. It slides right over the CAR stock and fits like a glove. Its tall enough that I can rest my cheek on it and see through the scope or I can squish it down and see the iorns. Hey man, whatever works! |
Yeah, everything is more green than tan down here. |
