First off, thanks for looking as always

I've been out of action for a while, recovering from surgery to repair a severed achilles tendon. Aside from the AWB sunset I haven't been keeping up with the latest AR news. What's new? Is my 'postban' Colt 6400C completely obsolete now? Is LaRue still the flavor of choice in ACOG mounts?

Thanks for the update.

Yes, your Colt is worth almost nothing now, but I will agree to purchase it for $375

(at a loss to myself)
My best wishes to you on a quick recovery...that sounds painfull!

Well, lets see here...

LotBoy shot MarkM because he found out MarkM was having an affair with some guy named Imbroglio.

Also, it seems Al Pacino used an FN FNC in the movie "Heat".  I'm not sure what that's all about.

Oh yeah, Jonsey gave Napalm an M16A1.

Other than that, all's quiet on the ARFCOM front.

Your rifle is obsolete, but easily upgraded. LaRue is still what the cool kids have.

You can buy real Ops Inc suppressors now.

LMT is producing non LEO marked lowers.

The phantom is closed on the bottom like an A2.

The Marines bought a ton of Daniel Defense forearms for precision uppers but requested special stainless steel barrel nuts.

Magpul is about to mail out their new modular grip and replacement trigger guards.

Nightforce is about to release their new 1-4X variable scope which will be the new must have optic for everyone.  The 2.5-10X is now the favored SPR optic over Leupold.

Troy is introducing a new dual same plane rear folding BUIS.

Thats all thats happened in the last few weeks or is about to happen.

Thanks for the info guys. It looks like I haven't missed anything too major-like a variable power ACOG or something.

How the hell did you sever your achilles tendon?

One morning while late for work I slipped and fell in my driveway. My foot got twisted just so as I came straight down on it. As the X-Rays later showed I have a row of pointy bone spurs on the back of my heel that look like a sawblade. The bone spurs sliced into the tendon like a meat cleaver when my full body weight came down.

It was one of those freak accidents that shouldn't have been a big deal-but it turned into one hell of a mess. This recent surgery was my second to correct this problem. Hopefully the next operation will be my last one.

I guess I'm not cool................................................yet.

Got a U-dog inspired Dissergy-like build in the process right now and was thinking that the LaRue 12.0 would finish it off nicely.  Then I'll be "cool".

Colt went out of business and HK took over all existing small arms contracts.
Crane hand loads the 6.8 SPC ammo for Remmington, which makes it very rare.
3rdtk was found to be Goat Boy aka Imbroglio.

Glad you are on the way to recovery!
