i saw a two piece railed handgaurd at the local gun shop today for $99, and the clerk said it was made by armalite. is this a good deal, and is there any way to distinguish it from others?

Good Question. I`d also like to hear from people who have actually used it.

I've got the ALOSTYR HG on my AR10.  They work great.  Mine are solid enough to mount an Aimpoint.  Checked zero again today and is still perfect.  Well over 1000 rounds with no movement.  So far the only access. that would not mount tightly to the rail was a Fobus flashlight mount that I needed to get rid of anyways.

I paid $180 for mine...so yes $99 sounds good to me.  The only thing that I can think of that makes them different or distinguishable would be that the top and bottom rails are different heights.  They are made to work on an AR10 or AR15.  You use the short rail to match the height with a AR15 flattop and use the taller rail to match the flattop on an AR10.

Good Luck
