If the sight is zeroed properly...the red dot is where the bullet goes. It is parallax-free, which means if you can see the dot you can aim the weapon. The iron sights are only a back-up for the EOTech. If they co-witness, the sights can be employed through the optic's window.

I would set up your rifle for a 50m sight in. you only need to use the reticle on the optic, you do not need to use the iron sight. Iron sights or back up iron sights are for back up only. EOTehc is parallex free so your cheek weld is not that important.
I first sight in my BUIS at 50 and then turn on the red dot to line the reticle to the iron. fire to check zero. your EOTech reticle should be pretty much sighted. of course this is why you check zero with your red dot. just to make sure it is zeroed. |

Will try out this new EOTech tomorrow and will post my results. Mounted on a A3 carbine, standard front sight tower and the BUIS is a ARMS 40. Thanks again . . . . |
