I've heard enough good things that I decided to order the M4 kit...
I'm going to try an Ameetec lower that was about $90ish. Not sure how well colors will match, but it's not entered in the beauty contest, so whatever!

it just depends on your definition of value...

I just put one of their M4 kits on top of a Bushmaster lower. I used the Bushie internals and kept the Model 1 lower parts for spares. Couldn't be happier!

I have one of the 16" pencil barrel uppers.  No complaints.

DPMS forged lowers usually run for $180-$199.

I have had nothing but good  service from those guys. And have had great service with the parts I've gotten from them.

My FSB was a bit crooked, and the trigger is the heaviest stock AR trigger I've tried yet, but otherwise my kit was just fine.  Finish matching will depend on what lower you buy.  Finish quality on the upper is actually better than my LMT upper.

After a lot of research on this helpful board I decided to go with Model-1 kit, the quality was great and the color match was perfect! Only drawback was the previously mentioned trigger roughness...
As a rookie, I would recommend them!

I emailed them asking if they could do a 14.5 inch M4 with a permenantly attached FS.

Was $10-$20, IIRC for a lightweight CAR-15
