I have an A2 flashider for my Bushy carbine. What's involved in threading the barrel post AWB? Can I do it ( I am an accountant! ) or will I need to send it out and where. All my local gunsmiths are bolt acton guys. No one I know works on AR's. Thanks, Dano.

www.adcofirearms.com can do that kind of stuff.

Adco and KKF both can do it. Both do great work but I believe Adco will have it back to you a little quicker. In fact I'm about to send a couple of barrels to them to have them cut and re-threaded to 14.5" with permanently installed phantom.

What is the proper length to have turned and threaded for the attachment of a FS?  I know the threads are .500"X28tpi

I measured the threaded area of a preban threaded muzzle and it approximately 5/8" of threads.

I'm assuming it shouldn't have to be exact length since you're using a peel or crush washer.
