I have an aimpoint ML2 and i'm wondering about if a 9v surefire would almost be too bright for my mid-range carbine...  at closer distances would I not be able to see my dot if I am lighting up a white wall or something?  Thanks!

No problem at all.

IMHO if you can use the Aimpoint on sunny days with bright background, target, etc., you'll have no problem using it at night in conjunction with a flash light at night....so what bsbg said

A few weeks ago I had the chance to shoot at night with my carbine.  I had a scorpion light on the gun and used my ML2 and had no problems.  Now the muzzle flash was another story as I was using military surplus ammo, wcc 87 headstamp, and did not have a flash suppressor(sp?) however the flash was so quick that it really didn't bother me that much after the first or second shot.

What about if you're moving around in the dark with your Aimpoint on a lower setting? Then it might fade out when you hit the light suddenly, and you'd need to crank the dial a bit.

(Just a theory...I don't know if that'd work that way)

No problem here.

If you're using your weapon indoors than your 9 volt surefire will preclude the use of your Aimpoint.  You'll see your target, identify, shoot/don't shoot.  Outdoors, your light might wash out the Aimpoint dot.  Only one way to find out.

I've never seen it to be an issue at all.

As the others mentioned no problem, but it would work better with an EOTech...
