I have decided to go with this system on an M4. In the past I have bought and sold many sighting systems for AR's, and taken hits, but I think that this setup can be used in many areas, and I will need help sighting it in.

Everything is on a Colt M4A3, 14.5in. barrel, with 1/7 twist.

At what distance should I sight in the :

ACOG TA01NSN ( mounted to A.R.M.S. 19s )
Optima sight ( mounted to the top of the ACOG for CQB )
A.R.M.S.  #40 ( mounted directly to Colt rail )

                         Thanks,
                                  KZ

Just went through a Jeff Gonzales Tactical Carbine Class and here are some notes I have.

Ballistics
Optimum battle zero 200 yard zero, point of aim impact 50 yards, and 200 yards (aiming)

1-20 yards holds 2.5 inch high
25 yards 1.5" high
50 yards hold zero "PAPI" (point of aim point of  impact)
50-100 bullet starts to strike high
100 yard bullet stricks about 2-3" high
200 yards PAPI
250- 300 bullet starts to hit low

Wind
At 250 yards a 10mph wind causes bullet to strick 5.5" windage

I have Colt M-4 with ACOG TA01NSN
14.5 barrel 1/7 twist
Sight in at 25 yards shot 1.5 high
Shoot at 50 yards needs to hold zero
Seems my M-4 shot low at 200 using 14.5 barrel

As for the Optima I would try to mayby set it up at 15-25 yard zero for CQB
A.R.M.S system. If you want to use this for back up to the acog I would try to duplicate my acog zero, therefore once you get into the routine of holding 2.5" high 1.5" high ect. will be less confusing IMO. My advice would be to find good system like this one and buy 500-1000 rounds of xm193 or maybe green tip (find out what will be issued) and learn to shoot it at CQB and out to 300-400 meters. For CQB  I had to hardest trouble hitting 8" center mass while strifing from left to right at 20-25 yards.
Hope this might help and good luck man.

Thanks for the advise.

Think I'll go 50/50, and 100 with the ACOG

PS  Sounds like a very good class.
