Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Peep Sight Won't Flip

I got a new M4 type upper at the show yesterday. I was so busy checking out everything else that I didn't notice that the peep sight wouldn't flip. It seems to be stuck in the position with the small hole up (which is the way that I'd keep it anyway), but what is the best way to free it up so that I could flip it?

won't flip.
it should be hard to flip.
maybe your not using enough oomph.


if all else fails take it apart and clean it.

Yeah, I have three others that all flip ok. This one just seems stuck.

Taking it apart to clean it just might be the answer.

Squirt some CLP along the sides of the aperture and onto the flat spring beneath it and let it soak for a little while.
