I believe the RRA has a higher shelf, It's much faster to do what you did than to cut down the shelf.

Does it cause any problems if you put a RRA upper on a Bush lower? I would think the RRA upper would be higher inside to make up for the higher shelf on the RRA lower...

just FYI. There is no AR-15 type firearms available to the civilian that is MilSpec. Not one as in none. 5sub |

rra upper on my bushmaster lower fits a little sloppy. had to use an accuwedge.

There are two issues. One is that RRA makes their lower a few thousands tighter than the spec allows, which prevents an in-spec takedown lug from fitting without a bit of forcing. The other part, which *shouldn't* be a problem, is that the "shelf" area behind the selector is left higher than spec. This is their way of making a sear block.
Don't file on your lug; the upper is in spec, and would be loose in a standard rifle if you modify it. Instead, some light sanding with emory cloth on the inside of the lower will fix it. -Troy -Troy |
