OK.....I have a rather demented plan for one of my guns hing
What I need is something like Gun-Kote or a bake on enamel in low gloss (semi-flat) medium dark yellow.  Something like a DeWalt yellow or the yellow on the AR-15.com logo.

Does anyone know where I can find something like this that is able to take a beating and resists solvents etc.

Thanks, and I will post the pics if all works out as planned.

goto www.lauerweaponry.com

they sell a hobby kit with products to do your own rifle.

every color under the rainbow

for some pictures -look under their "refinishers links" - most of them have pictures of their work on each site.

Hmmm.....I wonder if that would be a copyright or patent infringment. I do recall a guy with a Milwauki (sp) rifle on his pegboard.
Actually, my parachute and jump suit are black and yellow.....and thats all I am going to say for now  [}:D]

edited to add:  I have already checked out Lauer....but their yellow looks to light.  I was looking for something a little darker.

I haven't used the Lauer colors, but can't you mix up two or more and get the color you want?  It would be rare to get the custom color you seek without having to mix unless you use something other than firearms finishes, which by the way are finishes and not just paint, something to consider as they have desireable properties that paints don't.

You want it done right?  Email brasspile (he's a member here.)  He does GREAT work, and can mix any color under the sun.  He's pretty reasonable too!  (He's also the guy that did the Milwaukee rifle)

1. It wouldn't be a patent infringement since they didn't invent the AR15 and patent it...

2. Black & Yellow was first copyrighted by the first honey bee, or was it the yellow jacket, which has since lost his patent...

Oddly, those are my favs also (well, and the Milwaukee).

I use all Lauer, if you send them a sample piece/color, they will mix paint for you to match for no additional charge.  They are great people to work with.

Why don't you just buy a Cav Arms lower & handguards?  I think that www.gunsnstuff.net had them on special for $119.
