I want to take off the Bushmaster Fixed Collapsable stock. Anyone have any advice how to go about doing this?

Also has anyone else ever tried to take it off using a strap-wrench?

Edited to add: Thanks everyone! The Stock is off and safely replaced with an ARFX-E stock from Del-Ton.

They come off the same way. Just back the nut off and rotate the entire stock counter-clockwise. Get a barrel wrench with a peg on the other end for removing these, or just position a punch in one of the nut-grooves and gently tap it with a hammer. Only thing to watch is when you unscrew the buffer tube past the retainer and it's spring. Hold your hand over it or you'll loose it.  

Edited: Oh yeah, the strap-wrench won't work because you need to loosen the nut first. After loosening the nut the stock will turn easily by hand.

I used a strap wrench to take off and put on a telestyled stock.  I loaned out my telestock tool, and never got it back, so I went out to Sears and bought a strap wrench.  It's definitely easier with the telestock tool, but it is possible with a strap wrench.

I ordered my Ace LE stock and combination wrench at the same time, but the stock came first. Instead of using a strap wrench (I don't own one) I wrapped the nut with electrical tape and used a pair of vice grips to loosen it. The tape protected the finish and it worked fine.

Naturally the next day my wrench showed up [>:/]

Based on the recommendation of a few folks in the maintenance forum I bought a DPMS combination wrench like this one:
