Hey guys, I need help!

I'm about to get a SIR System and I am looking for a certain dimension. The dimension is located on the lower handguard/rail portion. I'm needing the distance between the rail bottom and the handguard body (refer to drawing below).

The reason I need it, I want to order a vertical pistol grip and I heard certain models don't fit, such as the Tangodown version.

I appreicate any help offered.

I am still waiting for a #50 for my AR so I don't have any hands on with it.... but I don't know if I am more disappointed that this grip won't fit without modification, or that the rail doesn't meet spec for 1913 rail.... someone correct me if I am wrong....

"from what i can tell, figure 1. (accessory mounting rail profile) of MIL-STD-1913 shows a min req'd standoff (the part below the 'diamond' part of the rail) height to be more than .1", with a max width of .617". the accessory rails of the SIR have a standoff height of less than .08" and width of about .65" when mounted on the bottom of the handguard, which is the reason the TD vertical won't fit without removing material.
cheers,
MM"
