I picked up a Versa Pod bi-pod topday.  I have a Dissipator.  My problem is that the front sling swivel is far too wide for the adapter AND it does not fill well anyway due to the extreme forward location of the sling swivel.  But I really like the bi-pod design.  

Can I replace the swivel adapter  with a hardened bolt and then run the bolt through one of the handguard holes and attach the whole thing in that manner?  If I use a washer both above and below the heat shield (sandwich it between the washers) will the handguard hold it?  Is there another way without buying another bi-pod?
